I have some questions about gene therapy I'd like to post. Any
suggestions about appropriate newsgroups or web pages would be
appreciated. I've posted to several web pages dealing with the subject
but gotten no responses. I have very basic questions and am looking for
book suggestions (I'm a programmer with no education beyond a couple of
college classes in this field).
Specifically, I'd like to know of any examples of 1 time only
gene-therapy treatments which result in the organism being genetically
different, and reproducing cells with the new genetic material from that
point on. Are viruses used to deliver the information? Are techniques of
this sort used on insects, mammals? Etc.
