I wonder if E. coli is able to use Tris (tris-(hydroxymethyl)aminomethan) as source of nitrogen. I thought about using a Tris-buffered medium, but MEDLINE or Current Contents did not contain articles concerning the above topic. Thanx in advance for any hint Carsten Hohoff
