Low-protease strain of B. subtilis

I have cloned a small peptide into an E. coli/Bacillus shuttle vector.
I use a ATCC strain of B. subtilis (168) and B. subtilis BE1500 and it
appears that the peptide is getting degraded due to protease activity.
Can anyone point me to a reference for a B. subtilis strain with low
protease activity, which I can transfer my plasmid into?
 tried bacillus brevis as it is supposed to have low protease activity;
but, transforming it is very difficult.
Thanks a lot
