FACULTY POSITION - BIOCHEMISTRY OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES
The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston
invites applications for a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT,
ASSOCIATE, or FULL PROFESSOR level.
We seek candidates who have research interests in the mechanisms of
microbial pathogenesis, including antibiotic development and drug target
identification. The individual will join our Biochemistry Division and
complement existing strengths in microbial biochemistry and genetics,
mechanistic enzymology, x-ray crystallography and computer-based drug
design. The position requires a Ph.D and postdoctoral experience.
Faculty are expected to develop nationally-competitive research programs
and participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching. The Department
has about 100 graduate students, spacious laboratories, vigorous
research programs in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and
encourages active research collaborations among its faculty
