In our lab we would like to fractionate bacteria into their various
"building blocks"-- proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, nucleic acids. What
is the best procedure for accomplishing this? We once tried the method of
Sutherland and Wilkinson; however, I was wondering if there might be a
newer, better method out there that we're unaware of. Any leads, comments,
or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
