I would suggest that you go to Genbank and pull every flagellin gene
sequence for Borrelia burgdorferi, align them and design appropriate
primer sets for conserved regions. A quick look at Genbank gave a large
list of deposited sequences including X15660, X15661, X14841 etc. I
searched by gopher to gopher.nih.gov.
