I am seeking a Ph.D. student position in Biochemistry in Europe.
Currently I am a 6th year (last year of studying) student at the
Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. I am doing my Diploma Thesis
at the Department of Functional Biochemistry of the Nevrous Systems,
Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and Neurophysiology, Russian
Academy of Sciences under the supervisorship of Prof. Guliaeva. My
research interests are not yet focused towards some narrow topic. They
include functional biochemistry, enzymology and physiology.
I received my Bachelor Degree with Honors in Biophysics from
Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPhT) in June 1995. I
worked for the Degree in the laboratory of Prof. Trukhan, the Dean of
the Department of Physical and Chemical Biology, at the Facility of
Ecology at MIPhT . My research their was aimed at the modeling of
integral biosensor. My work included construction of mathematical
models, software development using various methods of computational
mathematics, obtained models testing etc.
In 1995 I joined the Laboratory of Functional Biochemistry of
Nevrous Systems, Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and
Neurophysiology, Russian Academy of Sciences, to work for my Master
Degree . There I studied the possibility of cross-induction of the
enzymes, which have a considerable sequence homology but demonstrate
different functional activity. NO-synthase and NADPH-cyt P-450-reductase
were the objects of my investigations. In my Diploma Thesis I proved the
possibility cross-induction of NO-synthase and NADPH-cyt P-450-reductase
by benzo(a)pyrene and LPS in brain and liver of rats. Intraperitoneal
injection of substances to rats, preparation of soluble tissue extracts,
detection of H2O2-induced luminol-dependent chemiluminiscence,
spectrophotometric method for assaying cytochrome P-450 in microsomes,
spectrofluorimetrical method for determination of the activity of
NO-synthase from the rate of oxygenation NADPH blocked by inhibitor of
NO-synthases, spectrophotometric method for determination of the
activity of NADPH-cytochrome P-450-reductase by the rate of reduction of
cytochrome C and some other methods were used in this work.
Since I am graduating from the University this year (June, 1997)
I would like to apply for the Ph.D. student position in Biochemistry in
Europe, should such an opportunity exist for the foreigner.
I strongly believe that studies of biological phenomenon on the
molecular level could contribute much to almost every sphere of human
life. I hope that my research experience and ambitions as well as my
creativity and strong educational background would allow me to benefit
in my future work.
If you are interested in obtaining my full list of grades, my
recommendations, the description of my current research projects or any
other information about me, please, let me know. I will forward these
items to you immediately.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Sincerely yours, Inna A. Diordieva.
P.S. Enclosed, please, find my CV.
