The lag time is a well-known qualitative concept. In predictive =
microbiology, the lag time is sometimes expressed in magnitude for =
calculations. We can find in the literature many definitions: the moment =
at which toxin is first detected, or at which the population double, =
etc. But does a universal definition of this expression exist ? In other =
words, at what precise moment does the lag phase finish and the growth =
phase of a bacteria begin ?
