University of California Berkeley - Cal/EPA Bioremediation Certification
and Validation Center
Associate Specialist
Appointee will function as lead scientist of new UC-Cal/EPA
Bioremediation
Certification aboratory. Working with a management committee, appointee
will establish
procedures for haracterizing microbiota, their composition and function
in
bioremediation. Appointee will do esearch and provide scientific advice
and laboratory
reference services to determine efficacy, reliability and protectiveness
of new
remediation technologies. Minimum qualifications: PhD in microbial
biology or related field.
Some postdoctoral or similar work experience. Strong analytical and
written communication skills.
Salary: $41 - 49K per year (commensurate with experience).
Duration of appointment: 1 or 2 years with possibility of renewal
pending
available funds, effective February 1, 1997. Deadline: March 1, 1997.
