I am not a specialist in microbilogy but a physicist, but if Yersinia
consumes oxygen the way bacteria does then you can use our ( Columbus
Instruments) Micro-Oxymax Respirometer to detect miniscule changes to
oxygen consumption on the order of 0.2ul/h. Also contaminated by Yersinia
egg will respire and a change to egg metabolism due to contamination can
be measured with this instrument.
Please let me know if you need more information about this instrument, how
it works and how it can be used. I am not sure if this idea is applicable,
but it woked in many other cases where changes of O2/CO2 metabolism could
me measured.
