thanks for your comment. I would be interested in your background and
possibly in your protocol.
We tried PCR, too. We found a sensitivity inferior to the ones obtained
by shell vial or antigenemia. We will continue trying PCR with a
modified protocol to push sensitivity although major obstacles do not
permit introduction of PCR-assays for this question:
- limited number of assays in our hospital, justifying 1 or 2
runs/week only
- limited funding; insurances are reluctant to pay 2-3 times more for
a method which is not significantly better.
