immobilisation in pva gel beads: need help with apparatus

Hi,

If anyone knows how to make a simple apparatus to produce pva beads to
immobilise a diesel degrading consortia i would like to hear it. As
funds are limited i need to make it myself. Ideally they would be
between 1-3mm diameter.
