We now have available a unique stain composed of Lacto-Phenol Cotton
Blue (or Basic Fuchsin - your choice) mixed with a liquid plastic, with
the index of refraction adjusted appropriately.
The stain makes permanent mycology slides by killiing the organism,
clearing the sample, permanently attaching the coverslip and embedding
the organism within the plastic. This means no mour chipping nail polish
and dried out specimes - truly permanent slides.
