At the moment I am growing E.coli to late log phase using acetate
as my sole Carbon source. Using TG2 I get yields of 2g/l. I would
like to improve on this and would be grateful if anyone knew
of any strains of E.coli which have been designed to grow on acetate.
I do not need to use E.coli, so if anyone knows of any other 'user
friendly' bacteria which will grow better on this carbon source, then
I would also like to hear of these. Please e-mail me as I don't get
on Netscape to often.
