Research Assistant/Research Fellow Level A

The Department of Microbiology has vacancies for a Postdoctoral
Research Fellow and two (2) Research Assistants to join established
research groups. The Research Fellow is required to work on a new
ARC-funded project on the molecular basis of nitrate uptake in the
fungus Aspergillus nidulans. Graduates with an Honours degree in
Microbiology (or a related area) are required for Research Assistant
positions on (1) the development of new antifungal drugs and (2) an 
NH&MRC funded project on the molecular basis of antibiotic resistance
in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Applicants for all positions would be
expected to have experience in molecular biology.
Experience in handling fungi would be an advantage for the fungal
research projects.Appointments on the Clayton campus for one (1) year
commencing 1/02/97.

Salary Ranges

$27,510-$40,889 p.a. - Research Assistant/Research Assistant Level A -
