Bacterial Identification software

The old API and Vitek have been around for a long time.  And, other more
recent kits e.g, MIDI and the DIFCO's system, (also, Biolog has already
been mentioned) have their own software databases.  

The problem is validating the ID system.  I don't think most of the
software currently available is worth a dime.  Vitek is ok.

The USDA had a program (I liked) to ID yeasts from foods.  They gave it
away free.  Maybe they still do?
