                          MICROBIOLOGIST

   The Department of Biology at The University of Texas at Arlington
invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant
Professor level.  An individual actively engaged in research in
any aspect of the mechanisms of microbial pathogenicity is sought,
however, outstanding candidates in related areas may be considered.
Applicants must have a Ph.D., and postdoctoral experience is
preferred.  The appointee will participate in undergraduate teaching
serving a growing allied health program, and in graduate teaching.
The appointee is expected to develop a vigorous externally funded
research program.
   The Department of Biology offers B. S. degrees in Biology,
Microbiology, and Medical Technology, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.
The University of Texas at Arlington is a comprehensive university
with about 23,000 students located between Dallas and Fort Worth.
