Viral DNA Intergration into Host DNA

Was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out and let me know what
is known about viral dna insertion into the host genome. Specifically, I
was curious to know whether or not the the viral DNA is inserted into
specific sites...or recognized specific sequences, in the host genome
where it would then be inserted. This would seem to make sense to me,
since random insertion into the host genome could potentially be fatal to
the host. Thank you, Tim Volm
