 Yes - the USDA has the largest collection in the US outside of ATCC.  
Most strains are of industrially important organisms, and include yeasts, 
bacteria, and Actinomycetes.  Write to Dr. Cletus Kurtzman, 
USDA/ARS/NCAUR, 1815 N. University St., Peoria, IL, 61604.
