A used omnimixer or equivalent

	Dear Micronetters:

I am trying to break open S. aureus to isolate peptidoglycan
precursors. In the literature, people usually grind staphylococci with
glass beads in an omnimixer. Is there a way to get good breakage with a
sonicator? I do not have a French Press in the lab. and I cannot use
lysozyme. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome. Alternatively,
if someone out there would like to part with an Omnimixer, please let me
know.

				TIA
