Dear microbiologists,
Im working with an actinomycete Amycolatopsis methanolica.
In actinomycetes chromosomal information can be exchanged via recombionation.
With our strain we also observed recombination between two mutant strains,
exchanging chromosomal information.
Can anybody point me to (recent) information about a proposed
mechanism (involvement of plasmid or cell fusion or other).
