I teach microbioogy at a community college have helped with many high
school science projects and this is a common request. After something
grows, it is a natural thing to ask "what is that". Howerver, the answer
is not an easy one. Environmental baceria are enoromously diverse and it
is a very ambitious undertaking to ascertain with any degree of accuracy,
the identification of the isolated bacteria. I am afraid there is no easy
answer.
