FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
HEALTH-RELATED WATER MICROBIOLOGY SYMPOSIUM 1996
MALLORCA, SPAIN OCTOBER 6-10 1996
This is the latest in the series of biennial Symposia organised by the
Health-related Water Microbiology Group(HRWM) of the International
Association on Water Quality (IAWQ). Last year the biennial symposium
held in Budapest, Hungary attracted 150 papers over four days over half
of which will appear in Water Science & Technology 1995 vol 31 parts 5/6
(June).
The Symposium is the only venue where all the world's active water
microbiologists get together and has become a very successful scientific
and social event. It is not to be missed!
The 1996 biennial Symposium is to be held at Mallorca, Spain and is
already attracting a lot of interest. All aspects of water microbiology
will be covered: bacteria, viruses, parasites, drinking water,
wastewater, recreational water, method development, case studies etc etc
etc! Selection of papers for both verbal and poster presentations is by
abstract (200-250 words).
Any interested parties should, in the first instance, contact the
undersigned in order to get on the mailing list. A provisional timetable
for the submission of scientific contributions is as follows:
January 31 1996 Deadline for abstract submission (late abstracts
will only be accepted for poster presentations)
Mid March 1996 Notification to authors of acceptance
July 15th 1996 Deadline for final manuscripts (late manuscripts
will not be accepted)
October 6-10 1996 Symposium
