I don't disagree with you about the lack of specific diseases for Bufo
marinus, all I was trying to do was explain why these people were
trying it and give a little bit of historical background.
On your previous point about dead Cane toads being a hazard to the
native funa, the problem with the Cane toad and the native funa is
mostly not the native funa eating the Cane toad but the Cane toad
eating the native Funa (especially small native amphibians but also
even some of the small marsupials at times).
On the point of the bounty on the skins, there is (or was) actually a
small trade collecting the Cane toad skins which are then shipped to
China for use in herbal medicine. Maybe this sort of thing should be
encouraged.
