While I have no argument with the above, I wonder why beta strep has
remained so universally susceptible, despite being subject to the above
half therapy as much or more than any other pathogen. Strep pneumo, h
influ, staph, and other common pathogens have developed resistance as one
would expect in our overprescribed, undercontrolled antibiotic environment.
What is it about strep pyogenes that has let it lag behind in resistance
development?
Any ideas?
