I'm looking for latest research on neonatal infection of herpes simplex
virus. My wife is 30+ weeks pregnant, has had recurrent outbreaks for
over 10 years. i am also HSV positive but have nowhere near the frequency
of outbreaks. I have read the seminal article neonatal HSV by Prober et
al. in the New England Journal of M dated 1987 #316 pages 240-244. Does
anyone know what the latest info on this topic is. She/we would like to
avoid a C-section if possible. The Prober et al. article is very
encouraging but I haven't seen any subsequent research. Any info on this
would be appreciated.
