Microbiology of Cetaceans

I would like to contact others with an interest in the microbiology of cetaceans and other marine mammals.
We have recently isolated strains of Brucella from various species, and have serological evidence that
infection is very widespread (30%) around the British coast. As brucellosis is a very important of
reproductive loss in land mammals and a very serious zoonosis I think that the finding is very significant.
The strains isolated appear to be of a previously unrecognised species of Brucella.
Has anyone seen any pathological or clinical evidence suggestive of brucellosis. Do you have access to
blood samples from cetaceans worldwide? Any ideas for research collaborations?
