Unusual necrotic disease:China

It is  very suspicious that they have been unable to culture anything
out  of necrotic tissue. Even if the original cause is not microbial,
there certainly must be microbial organisms present in the necrotic tissue
described. This makes me suspect of their entire effort to isolate an
causative agent or organism.  While this problem could be a lot of things,
two things come to my mind right off --- Clostriduum and 
necrotizing strep-A. if the problem is microbial.
