Hello to G Kronvall,
my name is Peter Pfaller, I am a clinical microbiologist at the University
of munich. I work especially with anaerobes.
Recently I´v got an announcement for a program called "The Anaerobe Educator".
It is an interactiv computer learning system for anaerobe identification.
In depth profiles of 19 commonly encountered clinical anaerobes
Color pictures of Gram stain results for each organism
Color pictures of organism colonies on Brucella blood ager, PEA, EYA,
BBE/LKV and CCFA media.
Zoom feature included.
Text description of colony and cell morphology, and of special traits of
each organism.
Simulated lab practical familiarizes with presumptive identification methodes
Students are asked to identify organisms through logical step by step methods.
Online flowcharts can be made available during exams.
It seems to be an interesting program for studens, but we dont have it and
therefore I dont have any experience with this program.
One can order it by phone toll free: 1-800-443-3108
