The PHLS in Uppsala needs help with identification of a very
fastidious organism possibly a member of the alpha subgroup:
"From the plasma of a patient with peaks of high fever 41.5C
three times per day has a motile bacterium been isolated on cell
cultures.
Partial 16S rDNA sequences indicate a high homology with genera
like Sphingomonas, Methylobacterium, Caulobacter or Nitrobacter.
Our question is has anyone tested this kind of bacteria for
antibiotic susceptibility ?"
Any suggestions are welcome.
