By default, when GCG is initialised, global expansion of widcards is turned
off (i.e. set -o noglob). A side effect of this is that
"ls -l fred*" does not work but complains that the is no file named "fred*"
even if I have fred1 fred2 fred3 etc. in the dir. I could turn global
expansion back on with set +o noglob but I wonder what the side effects
would then be when running GCG programs.
Can anybody enlighten me?
