Durham, NC - July 12, 2000. With a working draft of the human genome in
place, molecular biologists are facing enormous amount of data. To assist
you in evaluating possible data analysis solutions, the Duke Bioinformatics
Shared Resource has organized a two-day workshop for functional genomics
data mining.

In this unique hands-on workshop, you will test drive bioinformatics
packages from the makers of Spotfire, GeneSpring, Partek and others for data
mining, data visualization, pattern recognition, clustering, and genomic
pathway analysis. In addition, a 3-hour session on functional genomics data
mining will be presented. Real data sets from microarray studies will be
used in the workshop as examples.

SCHEDULE
There will be two tutorial sessions (morning and afternoon) on each day,
poster session and microarray product faire are on Aug 3. See the website
for details.

SPONSORS: Duke Bioinformatics Shared Resource, Duke Comprehensive Cancer
Center, SpotFire, BioDiscovery, Partek, Hitachi, SiliconGenetics.

REGISTRATION: $0 (poster presenters), $35 (academic), $70 (corporate). To
make sure everyone has a computer to work on, the workshop enrollment is
