We could ask the bionet people to switch the status of bionet.software
and bionet.software.gcg to "moderated". This means that all articles
submitted go to a moderator which then decides which of them are
being posted.
This blocks out most of the spam.
I would think that a change in moderation status should be no problem,
provided you find volunteers for acting as moderators. I might be
willing to moderate bionet.software; maybe someone from GCG might be
willing to moderate bionet.software.gcg. Usually there is some kind
of vote for status change, but the bionet hierarchy may handle this
in a different way.
I am going to Cc: this to the bionet administration (biosci-help at net.bio.net).
