Scripts to auto-update GCG db's?

Hmm, depends what you mean by auto-update. I've just updated our
installation from the EMBL distribution today, as it happens. GCG supply
the programs you need to convert the flat-file distributions into GCG
format, but there is more to updating than this. If new divisions are
added, you have to update the farm files and logical name service files,
and GCG doesn't provide you with the scripts to do that. In the past, this
wasn't a big issue, but with the recent rapid growth in the databases, it
is becoming a bit of a pain.

On the other hand, if you are willing to pay extra for GCG's own update
service, you can get the GCG-formatted stuff ready to install, but that is
not part of the basic package.
