With GCG release 8.0 it was easy to give the .trees file generated by
growtree as input to the PHYLIP package programs drawgram and drawtree.
A reason to do this, is that the PHYLIP package offers a great choice
of different ways to represent the tree.
With GCG release 8.1 the format of the .trees file has changed from
a simple nested parentheses format to standard NEXUS format and so, it
does not work anymore, unless you use a file editor to remove anything
between the beginning of the file and the first parenthesis "(".
Of course, it is impossible to make everybody happy...
