Dear fellow researcher,
I just sequenced a cloned genome fragment, 600 bp long, which, in my
intention should be the promoter of a human myelin protein.
Unfortunately, there is not a clea-cut TATA box at - 25 nor a CAAT
sequence.
Before spending time in the usual experimental transfection trials (that
is to say. CAT gene expression), is there something in the sequence I
could look for, which might suggest it is indeed a regulatory gene
segment. Specifically, should I consult a database and if yes which one
and in which way?
