IUBio

from figure to gif...

We have had the best success by using the HPGL graphics (currently set for
the HP7550, using A4 and saving in a file PLOT.HP). The resulting file is
transferred to the Mac and then converted to a PICT file using Don
Gilbert's HyperCard stack, hp2pict (available from many molbio anonymous
FTP servers). You can open the PICT file in your favorite Mac drawing
program.

An alternate method is to use VersaTerm PRO as your terminal emulation
program. Set the GCG graphics for the VersaTerm Tek4105 and display it to
your terminal (Mac). You can then save the graphics window to a PICT
file. Althought this method is more convenient (you see the graphics and
save them in one step), the text is a mess: each letter is a separate
object in the Tek4105 method while the HPGL method leaves text in easily
editable text blocks.

Good luck!

John
