GCG 8.1 is expected to have a SRS-derived program which can do such searches. 
SRS from Thure Etzold already today comes with 'getz' which can search both 
All-Text and any field of the database which is indexed in SRS. A networked 
version is under development for the ASCII interface, but SRSWWW provides 
these capabilities already today. Please contact me individually per email 
if you are interested in providing feedback for a networked ascii-text version.
