A postscript laserwriter is simply a Laserwriter printer which supports
Postscript. Postscript is a type of printer language - basically instead
of sending the picture to the printer the program converts the picture
into this Postscript language and you then send this file to the printer.
About your second question - well as long as the printer supports postscript
(you should be able to find out quite easily - just look in the manual)
then I'm sure it will work.
I have just got a program called Showpages from a gopher - can't remember
which one - but this program allows you to send postscript files directly to
a printer from a MAC without having to open up the file in an graphics
package email me for further details ( assuming I can remember).
Hope this helps.
