Dear Fellow Netters,

I'm sorry if I'm asking a frequent question(s), but there is a serious chance of the finance being made avaliable for an automated sequencer for the institute:-)

We are debating what system to go for. Not only are we interested in ease of performace, running costs etc, but also data analysis. The institute will soon have a unix based network comprising of silicon Graphics and and Sun sparcs. Software will include both GCG and Staden, together with others.

I'd imagine that it would be centrally run, so sequence data would have to be analysed on a local terminal across the network.

I would be grateful for any personal experiences/comments that you may have. I do also intend to try and use the gopher system to search for additional info, but as yet have not used gopher so i'm not sure how long it will take me.

Please email me directly if you can. If I get enough info, I will summarize:-)
