The quick answer is Yes it will be. Last (?) August, I tested a pre-alpha
demo of what the X interface for version 8 will look like. (They ran
the software on one of their vaxen and displayed it on my OS/2 pc
which has an X-server running on it).
This week, I talked to Mike Hogan at GCG, and he said that things look
fairly well on schedule for release this year.
