CALL FOR PAPERS for "MOLECULAR BIOTECHNOLOGY"

Dear Colleague,

I am writing to tell you about a new journal specializing in molecular biology
and biotechnology. You may be interested in submitting full length papers on new
programs or software, or a review of existing software. These papers are
subject to peer review and will be assessed on merit.

Review papers are particularly welcome, for example: comparative evaluations
of different packages, comparisons of individual programs for specific uses,
descriptions of networks, databases, etc. Questions that should be addressed
include: What are they? What do they do? Where do you get hold of them? How do
you use them? When writing your paper bear in mind that the readership consists
of molecular biologists and biotechnologists who are not generally computer
experts.

Instructions for authors are available.

The journal also has a section entitled SOFTWARE UPDATE which will feature new
(or updated) programs and software packages (both commercial and public domain)
of interest to the molecular biologist; also updates on networks, databases,
etc. If you have any information which you would like us to consider for this
section please send two copies of your submission to me at the above address.
Your contribution should be concise yet informative...aim at 100 - 200
words. The purpose is to inform the reader of the existence of the
software and provide a brief summary, a reference can also be given if a full
description has already been published. Notes on new database releases,
networks, etc are welcome. If possible include a FAX number and E-mail address
so that readers can contact you directly. Updates to existing programs and
databases should also be publicized here.

General information about the journal (including a sample copy) can be obtained
from Humana Press, 999 Riverview Dr., Suite 208, Totowa, NJ 07512.
FAX 201-256 8341. The first issue will be published in February.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Hugh Griffin.
