Dear Glycoscientist
As all of you know, the grant review structure at the National
Institutes of Health has been undergoing reorganization (
http://www.csr.nih.gov/review/reorgact.asp). This process will result in
phasing out previous study sections over the next year or so and
institution of new study sections with different emphases. A new set of
study sections have now been designated that would cover glycan
structure, chemical synthesis, biosynthesis, and biophysics (
http://www.csr.nih.gov/PSBR/BCMB/BCMBIntro.htm). Please see
http://www.glycobiology.org/welcome.htm for additional information.
The proposed study sections are open for public comment and subject to
influence, giving us an opportunity to provide appropriate input as a
Society and as individuals. I need your comments by June 15 to collate
into a coherent position from the society. If you have not already sent
me comments, please remit them by the deadline.
