I would like to ask your help in recruiting a Ph.D. student for a new
project that will
involve the development of a novel drug delivery system that requires a
student with a
strong background and interest both in carbohydrate biochemistry and
synthetic
carbohydrate chemistry.
This project will involve protein modification, purification and
characterisation, synthetic
carbohydrate chemistry, molecular modelling and an industrial placement
to evaluate the
efficacy of these drug delivery systems. This work will explore the
exciting interface
between chemistry and biology.
The Department is a Grade 5 (top rated) research centre and is
excellently equipped.
This project is fully funded by Glaxo Wellcome at an initial stipend
level of £9455 per
annum and is available to all EU nationals. We would like to fill this
studentship as soon
as possible and so will be interviewing on a first come, first serve basis.
