POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN CARBOHYDRATE AND NUCLEOTIDE-SUGAR CHEMISTRY
A post-doctoral position is available for 12 months from October 1998 at
CERMAV ("Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolécules Végétales"), Grenoble,
France.
The project will be focussed on the synthesis of modified sugars and
nucleotide-sugars to study in vitro and in vivo plant and/or bacterial
polysaccharide biosynthesis. The successful applicant is a chemist or a
biochemist with experience in organic chemistry. Preference will be given
to candidates with experience in carbohydrate and nucleotide-sugar synthesis
and modification, and in physico-chemical characterization of
polysaccharides. Experience with membrane-bound enzyme purification
techniques and enzyme kinetics would be an advantage, but is not an absolute
requirement. The project will be co-directed by Dr. Vincent Bulone and Dr.
Hugues Driguez.
The salary will be of 9 000 to 10 000 FF per month, depending on the
candidate experience.
This position is not available to French citizens.
