Hercules Incorporated, a world leader in water-soluble polymers, paper
chemicals, resins, food gums, and non-woven fibers, is seeking a full-time
employee in 1998 to join our R&D team engaged in biotransformation of natural
materials.
The prospective candidate needs a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related
discipline with relevant experience in enzyme-mediated reactions or structure
modifications. Responsibilities include synthesis of carbohydrates and
oligosaccharides by enzymatic and chemo-enzymatic methods, purification and
separation of products, and characterization through chemical and biochemical
analysis. Familiarity with enzyme isolation, purification, assays, and
reactions is essential.
