ManLev (N-levulinoylmannosamine) originated in the labs of Prof. Carolyn
Bertozzi of the Univ. of California at Berkeley (USA). It is not (yet)
commercially available. She and her students have presented papers and
posters on ManLev at several meetings in the past year or so, the most
recent being the International Glycoconjugate Symposium in Zurich two
weeks ago, the Gordon Conference on Carbohydrates this summer, and the
ACS meetings in SF (spring '97) and Orlando (fall '96). They also
published a paper recently in Science (It came out shortly after the
spring ACS meeting in San Francisco). If you're interested you should
contact her. You can find her email address and Web page by starting at
Cal-Berkeley's Web site (www.berkeley.edu).
Best wishes and good luck.
