but probalby it works directly whith mannosamin hydrochlorid and levulinic
acid chlorid and a suitable base like potassium carbonate. The purification
should be possible by silica gel or RP18 chromatography.
I think that there are similar substituted mannosamines refernced in literature
so probably you can find experimental details and work in an analogus way.
