Hercules Incorporated, a world leader in cellulosic polymers, food gums,
paper chemicals, resins, and non-woven fibers, is seeking a postdoctoral
associate to join our R&D team engaged in bioconversions of natural materials.
The prospective candidate needs a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a
related discipline with relevant experience in enzyme-mediated reactions or
structure modifications. Responsibilities include synthesis of
carbohydrates and oligosaccharides by enzymatic and chemo-enzymatic methods,
purification and separation of products, and characterization through
appropriate chemical and biochemical analyses. Familiarity with enzyme
isolation, purification, assays, and reactions is essential.
Duration of position is two (2) years maximum and is available immediately.
