if you have enough sample for sds-page, the quickest, grottiest method i
know is periodic acid schiff's reagent staining of your gel. i don't
know if this method works with all carbohydrate moieties(ie any without
vic hydroxyl groups). i've used it
successfully to follow enzymatic and chemical deglycosylation. Fetuin is
a workable positive control.
